The Toynbee club was founded in October 2003 as a teaching club for ENT staff members at St Mary's Hospital in London. Meeting are held on a weekly basis and take place on a Thursday evening. The purpose of the meetings is to provide teaching for ENT trainees of all levels. The inaugural lecture included a brief biography of Joseph Toynbee, the Famous St Mary's Otologist after whom the Club was named.
